Seam & Strand

Hair Worth Knowing

MJ, founder of Seam & Strand

I’ve spent twenty-six years in the beauty industry and most of my life wearing hair extensions. Seam & Strand is the brand I wished existed, for both sides of the chair.

The name

My grandmother Rosa was a seamstress. She worked her seams by hand, with a patience I didn’t understand until I was older. What she made held up because of the care she put into the joinery, the part most people never notice.

The name comes from her work. A seam is where the joining happens. A strand is what shows. We make extensions the same way she made a garment: by hand, with seams that disappear into the finished piece.

The craft

The Seamless Collection is our genius weft. It combines the precision of hand-tying with the strength of machine construction, finished with the lightest, flattest seam in the category. The seam can be cut without fraying. It lays flush at the part and blends invisibly with natural hair. With proper care, a set is built to wear a year or more.

We didn’t build this to compete on price. We built it to raise the standard.

The sourcing

Where the hair comes from matters.

We work with vetted suppliers who provide ethically gathered, cuticle-intact human hair. Every shipment is traceable to its origin. We don’t blend. We don’t substitute. We don’t sell what we wouldn’t wear ourselves.
