Who can apply to The Strand Collective?
Licensed cosmetologists in the United States with a valid, current cosmetology license. Newly licensed stylists are welcome — if your license is active, you're eligible to apply.
Why do I have to verify my license?
License verification is standard across professional beauty brands. It confirms you're a licensed stylist so we can extend pricing and products intended specifically for professionals — and so that pricing stays meaningful for the stylists who've earned it. Verification takes a few minutes and only happens once.
How does professional pricing work?
Once your account is verified, professional pricing appears automatically whenever you're signed in. You'll see it on every product page and at checkout. There's no code to apply and no minimum order to unlock it.
Can my client buy hair from you directly?
Yes, at retail pricing. What she can't buy is the consultation, the shade match, or the install — and those are what determine whether extensions look right and last. Most clients who price it out find that working with their stylist is the better decision.
What makes Seam & Strand hair different?
Every weft is 100% European hair — single donor and double drawn. Single donor means all the hair comes from one person, so the cuticle runs in one direction and it behaves like one head of hair. Double drawn means the strands are sorted to nearly the same length, so the ends stay thick and full instead of thin and wispy. It's the quality we'd want on our own clients.
What's expected of me as a member?
Represent Seam & Strand with the same professionalism and honesty you bring to your own clients, maintain a valid cosmetology license, and use our brand assets as provided. That's it — we keep it simple and built on trust.
What happens after I submit my application?
You'll receive a confirmation email immediately. Within 7 business days, we'll verify your license and send you a decision. If you're approved, you'll receive an invitation to set up your professional account — and your pricing is active from your first sign-in.
